Wedsy provided reception styling for a wedding at QVB Tea Room on 10 December 2023, for 120 guests. The styling followed a soft, romantic palette in shades of white, blush pink, and lilac, centred on the bridal table and a series of tall table centerpieces throughout the reception room.
The Brief
The couple wanted a reception that felt soft and romantic without being overly formal — a palette built around white, blush pink, and lilac gave the room warmth while staying elegant for a 120-guest sit-down.
What Wedsy Styled
- Bridal table styling in the white, blush, and lilac palette
- Tall table centerpieces throughout the reception room
A Personal Touch
This wedding stood out for its favours and finishing details: the couple gifted unicorn favours to guests, and plush toy unicorns were placed at the base of each tall centerpiece — a playful, personal detail that tied the whole room together and made the styling distinctly theirs.
Why QVB Tea Room
QVB Tea Room sits inside the Queen Victoria Building, one of Sydney's most iconic heritage landmarks, built in the 1890s in the Romanesque Revival style. The room's gigantic, classic chandeliers and ornate architectural detail give a soft blush and lilac palette room to breathe rather than compete — the existing grandeur does a lot of the work, so styling can stay elegant without needing to be elaborate.
The Result
The couple said the décor was "exactly how they imagined" and that "everything was perfect."
